    We know it sounds corny, but there really is no I in Team. This curated experience is only possible because we have incredible suppliers and people holding our hands. The following service providers made Pause May 2021 possible, we are beyond grateful to each and every one of you.

    Au De Hex is amazing! It is seriously one of the most beautiful set ups we have ever done and it is a place where we would always be able to let our creative juices flow. Lariska + Kraanos where amazing. Nothing was too big or too small for them to tend to and we are so grateful for their exceptional service.     TASTE Ateljee

    Our students were treated with the most delicious food and drinks throughout the 3 days. Every snack and meal was presented with so much care and finesse. AND most importantly, it tasted AMAZING! Jacques and Michelle blew us away with their generous portions and this unforgettable taste adventure. Full disclosure: Both of us, after working at least 12hours a day during the workshop, picked up 2kg’s! That should tell you something about how yummy the food was!     Chantall Marshall is seriously one special photographer and we were lucky enough to have her with us for 3 whole days! Her calm demeanour, happy spirit and rad photography skills really made this journey even more special ! She captured moments and emotions we will truly carry with us forever.     Alana van Heerden Bridal is definitely one of the sweethearts in the wedding industry. This time around Goeters really kitted us out!     Clarita Smit Hair & Make Up Artist is not only a super talented make up artist but she is also one of Amanda’s best friends! I Clarita is such a bubbly energetic human and she knew exactly what mood we wanted to created for the bride model.     Mari Fouche is any creative’s dream  when shooting an editorial! Mari was actually our model for our first ever Pause August 2020 , we could not say yes quick enough when she showed interest to be part of another Pause. In front (and off) of the camera she is an absolute professional , needing no guidance at all. We would pick the gorgeous Mari for every editorial for the rest of our lives!     Seven Teal Vessels is a boutique ceramic studio owned by Anni. She focuses on making small scale ceramic sets that screams handmade and one-of-a-kind!     “Here we go again”

    We are still pinching ourselves thinking that we had a FOURTH Pause Floral Workshop. This time around we wanted a real intimate group so that we could really invest more time into each attendee.

    6 Beautiful flower souls from all around the country invested in this journey and trusted us with their creative hearts.

    It is important for us to make our students feel special. Our little labour of love after each day of class is to set the table. We just love to see their faces when they walk in each day and see all of the special details put together just for them.

    Day 1 was all about theory and tablescapes. When learning a new skill (or even just sharping up old ones) it is best to start at the beginning. So we start with the basics and build our students up to a point where they have the skills to do anything they put their mind to. Our students also had a little foraging 101 session with our dear friend, Design by Marcel.

    We introduce to another amazeballs friend of ours, Design by Marcel. Marcel is also from Tulbagh (like Anli) and he is literally the king of foraging. We are so lucky to have him educate our students on responsible foraging and also for sharing some of his favourite (and oh so funny) foraging adventures.

    Day 2 was all about learning the relationship between a planner and a florist with Luke Krone, phone photography with Jenni Elizabeth, bouquets, floral accessories and yes, a tad more theory.

    Meet Luke Krone



    We introduced you to another amazing friend of ours, Luke Krone. Luke has been in the events industry for many years and really built himself a reputation as a planner that takes note of every detail. His weddings is always elegant, always executed with immense passion and he always treats both his client and his service providers with a great amount of respect. We just love everything about him and he treated our students to a glimpse inside the inner workings of a planner-florist-relationship.

    Meet Jenni Elizabeth



    We introduced you to another amazing friend of ours, Jenni Elizabeth. Jenni is known for her beautiful and timeless approach to wedding photography, content creation for well known brands and phone photography! Jenni gives our students a crash course in phone photography and we LOVE all the “a-ha” moments our students have during her presentation.

    Day 3 is all about the installations. We cover certain mechanics that you would mostly use when doing large installations. Here we only focussed on arch, growing installations and hanging installations. During this session, we love to take a step back and observe our students. It is really amazing to see how they’ve grown in only 3 days, hearing them laugh and chatting up a storm with their new-found-flower-friends. Have a look at our Pause August 2021 editorial here.

That moment when their “bride” holds their bouquet and they can see it all come together. There is something magical that happens when a flower heart gets a platform to express themselves. Without fear or judgement. That is what we want to give each one of our students. A stage where they can admire their beautiful creations.

    Zorgvliet Wine Estate is an amazing venue just outside Stellenbosch. They have a restaurant, an amazing picnic area, beautiful wine tasting area, wedding venue and accommodation on the farm. Oh we missed VIEWS for days! Christine and her was absolutely amazing and they treated us and our students with so much care and respect. Nothing was too big or too small to ask.
